Our Founder

Lola was a loving friend.

She spread positivity to everyone she met.

Spread Positivity was founded by Lola, a very happy and positive golden retriever. She was
constantly smiling, looking people in the eye, and bringing them a moment of
happiness—especially during her therapy dog visits around the state.

Growing up in the city, she quickly became curious as to why all the humans walked around
looking mad and unhappy, emotionless, consumed by the
shiny thing in their hand, not paying attention to anything in the world around them. So, Lola
asked her Human why that was. And when her Human
explained a bit about today’s smart phone- and technology-driven world,
Lola decided it was time for her to help us regain and celebrate our shared humanity. Time to
get back to actually interacting with and helping each
other in the real world.

Sort of funny that it took a dog to start a movement to help humans improve
the way they treat each other!

She’s always with us.

Her kind, empathetic spirit lives on.

June 19, 2019 note from Lola:

“Hi everyone. Early this morning, the universe decided that it was time for
me to move on to spreading positivity in another dimension.
On monday night, I suddenly got very sick. My heart wasn’t working properly, I could
barely move. Of course, I still did all tails wags that i could, but even those took all my
energy. Neither my human nor i had any idea what was happening – I’ve been so
extremely happy and healthy my whole life, right up until that moment.

We went to the emergency hospital immediately. Turns out that some nasty thing called
“cancer” had been having a huge party in my blood vessels, and had setup party
headquarters on my heart. On Monday night, the party got so big that it broke out of
headquarters and surrounded my heart. The nice doctors at BluePearl and then Angell
Animal Hospital used a shiny pointy stick to remove as many of those partygoers as they
could that night. But the little cancer dudes just kept coming back, even more of them
each time. Three times we removed them, but i wasn’t getting any better. There was
nothing more we could do.
At 1:30am this morning, in the loving arms of my human, I left this earth.

Thank you to everyone who has loved me and allowed me to love them. I hope that you
all will continue to Spread Positivity to your fellow humans. I’ll keep doing so, too, but i’ll
be doing it through you 🙂

Much love,
Lola

P.S.
Heaven has bacon!”
